Malory Ericksen’s Biography
I got interested in metal detecting from a random YouTube video in 2015. My husband and I went right out and got a couple of cheap metal detectors. We tried them in our backyard and came away with several old nails, pull tabs, and not much more.
We lived in southwestern Idaho then and headed up to the Boise National Forest to camp. We took our detectors along. We headed up a trail, sweeping back and forth as we walked. We came across a few scraps of metal, several cans, and finally, an old railroad tie! That was when I knew I was hooked.
I now live in northeastern Utah and enjoy metal detecting the area and nearby Ashley National Forest with my family. I am a huge history buff and there is something so incredible about a metal detector alerting to buried treasure and digging up pieces of the past!
